For centuries, science has been strongly divided into natural sciences and humanities. The artificially maintained division has often received openly hostile and political dimensions. Despite its various explanations, perspectives and methods, natural sciences and humanities are studying the same reality. Even since the Renaissance, artists have studied science, took a stand on this question and created science simulations.
To create my fiber based lumen and silver nitrate prints in the darkroom, I expose my negatives up till one
week in contact printing under strong uv-light. During this slow process each picture
collects unplanned effects and accidents from constant experimentation. In the end result a
new symbiosis emerges from handling of subject matter with human presence. The
pictures present my sometimes humorous meditations on natural scientific world view.
